The “Why” Behind Nanny Academy

In her work with families as an occupational therapist, Doctor Marielly saw parents struggling to juggle therapy appointments, after-school enrichment activities, and school routines. Not to mention the extra stress of finding time to practice therapy recommendations at home. 

The need became even more urgent when she learned there was an 80% divorce rate for parents who have a child with a disability. She felt compelled to avoid having another family succumb to this statistic. 

That was the lightbulb moment – Doctor Marielly saw the potential to remove stress from overwhelmed parents by providing a pivotal connection with the right nanny.

So Doctor Marielly began helping families find nannies who were able to provide this elevated level of childcare. 

And she took her idea a step farther by providing extensive training to these nannies, customized to the needs of that specific child — and BINGO!  Children were happy and thriving — even being discharged out of therapy faster. Nannies soaked in the training and family dynamics shifted for the better. 

Encouraged by this massive success, Doctor Marielly launched The Nanny Academy. Part training center and part hub to connect families with Ther-au-Pair Nannies trained in child development and the basics of sensory processing.
